Bonnie Murphy, Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern

I am a counseling practicum student at Regent University, completing my graduate training under supervision as I pursue my degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have over three years of clinical experience working with adolescents in an acute inpatient setting, where I developed a deep appreciation for the resilience young people bring even in the most challenging circumstances. As I continue my training, I am expanding my work to include adults facing a variety of struggles, with a particular focus on bariatric counseling and supporting adult women on the autism spectrum.

I approach counseling from a holistic perspective, recognizing that emotional, cognitive, and
physical well-being are deeply interconnected. I believe that a strong therapeutic alliance is the
foundation for meaningful growth, so I work at your pace to create a safe, collaborative, and
authentic space. By integrating evidence-based strategies with empathy, humor, and hope, I aim
to foster growth, resilience, and balance in all areas of life.

Outside of therapy, I spend my time enjoying life’s simple pleasures and keeping up with my two
mischievous huskies. I love spending time with my family, curling up with a good book,
thunderstorms, watching scary movies, playing games, and hunting for one-of-a-kind treasures at
thrift stores. I also love being immersed in nature, especially on crisp fall days, which remind me
of the beauty of transformation and the importance of balance (plus, it is a perfect excuse for me
to live in hoodies).

If you are looking for a supportive, understanding space where you can explore your challenges
with no judgment and receive unconditional positive regard, I would be honored to work with
you. Together, we can build coping skills, find balance, and navigate life’s challenges. I invite
you to take the next step and reach out. I look forward to connecting with you.
